Dadi Prakashmani Day

In June of 1999 Dadi Prakashmani was featured at a special program Washington DC and in honor of her visit the Mayor of the city proclaimed June 10th “Dadi Prakashmani Day” – a day for peace in the Nation’s Capitol. Since then, this proclamation has inspired annual projects of special service in the DC community including “Envision a City of Values”, “Remember Me”, “The Tree of Blessings”, “Kites for Peace”, “Dancing for Peace”, “America Meditating”, “Meditation Marathon”, and “Karma Kafe”. On June 10th, 2000 the “Om Shanti” Peace Tree honoring Dadi Prakashmani was planted on the grounds of the U.S Capitol by dignitaries and citizens of the DC area.
